Reaction to Ventura varies

The reaction Gov. Jesse Ventura’s first local interview in months has been varied to say the least.  Emotions and opinions are strong, not a surprise I suppose.  The majority of people I heard from found it interesting and even entertaining.  One of the biggest responses came to Ventura’s disclosure that “I have a lot of metal in my body” and set off airport security scans resulting in pat-downs he calls a “sexual assault” that he would prefer having a woman do.

In the limited word count world of Twitter, IronMatron declared it “Best interview ever.”  DerekBrigham responded “Ahhh, it’s been a while, priceless.”  benchwarmerjim said he enjoyed the interview and added Ventura is “always good for a quote, or makes you think about something.”  Wyoming Mayor sheldonanderson said “Jesse should stay off the grid” where he spends nearly half the year in Mexico.  Many commented about Ventura’s habit of rocking in his chair and that it seems to have gotten worse to them.

Some are just tired of the former governor.  On Facebook Gretchen E. P. Halverson asked “Why. Why does ANYONE give him a platform anymore?”  But most still had something positive to say like Tom Ruen stating “We’re lucky to have people in the world like Jesse who ‘can’t be fake’ even if they tried!”   Ben Bjornson added “I think Jesse was a very good governor until his ego got in the way. He is still providing us with good sound bites. His ideas were sound.”

Join in the fun and tell us what you think.  The entire 45 minute interview can be viewed here:

Listening to Jesse reminded me a lot of my kids (ages 5 and 2): confidently irrational and utterly intransigent.

I have to say that while I was watching in the interview Friday night, my thoughts were the same as Gretchen’s – why would anyone give him a platform any more? What has he to say that we haven’t already heard? And is it Almanac’s job to promote his crazy TV show? Let him just ride off into the sunset, please.

“Ben Bjornson added ‘I think Jesse was a very good governor until his ego got in the way.'”

Excuse me, but didn’t this happen every time he opened his mouth?

Jesse, just like today’s Independence Party, was and is a wasted vote.
