Supporters of Indian gaming assembled thousands of people from across the state to rally at the Capitol for their casino workers.  They chanted “Don’t gamble with my job!” and reminded the state about the 40,000 jobs tribal gaming creates.  

On the same day Profit Minnesota held a press conference for new electronic gaming in bars and restaurants.  They say they will save thousands of jobs and bring more than $600 million in new state revenue and more than $200 million in charitable donations.

Gov. Mark Dayton won’t rule out a racino, but called the latest proposal a huge expansion of gambling and “alcohol and gambling are a bad combination.”  We know some form of gambling revenue will be in play as lawmakers and the governor try to solve a $5 billion budget shortfall in the next month.  More on this topic Almanac: At the Capitol Wednesday night on tpt.
