Chronicle of an all-nighter

State representatives spent their first full night, overnight, on the House floor passing budget bills destined for gubernatorial vetoes.  It made for interesting new media moments through email and twitter.  GOP Communications Director Jodi Boyne sent emails throughout the night alerting reporters on votes. The last messages arrived at 6:03 a.m. saying:  “Good Morning.  Minnesota House passes Education: 70-55” and at 6:41 a.m. “Session begins at 3 p.m.  We will be taking up Finance bills. Those that remain: Environment, Jobs, Public Safety/Judiciary, Transportation, State Government Finance and HHS.”

On twitter, the legislative coordinator for Clean Water Action and House GOP media guy had this exchange “@CleanWaterDan: @kwatt No one is blameless, but you y’all could have adjourned at midnight.”  Citizen asked “@EdinaPolitics: How functional is a gov’t that debates bills until 6:30 in the morning?”  Star Tribune political reporter “RachelSB behind the scenes tweets from #minnesotamean at #mnleg last night
