Kyle Stokes

Staff Writer at MinnPost

Kyle Stokes joined MinnPost as a reporter in Jan. 2023. Prior to joining MinnPost, Kyle covered education at NPR stations across the country for more than a decade — most recently at Southern California Public Radio (KPCC/LAist). In Los Angeles, he covered the 2019 teachers strike and investigated the role of parent fundraising in school funding. Previously, Kyle authored a documentary on a Seattle high school during his stint at KNKX Public Radio and also won two national awards for his work at StateImpact Indiana from 2011 to 2014. He got his start at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where he reported for NPR member station KBIA and NBC affiliate KOMU. But Minnesota’s always been home, and Kyle’s excited to be back covering local government issues in Minneapolis, St. Paul and across the Twin Cities metro for MinnPost.
