Jim Lehrer, anchor of the “NewsHour” on PBS, traveled to Minnesota this weekend as part of a cross-country tour visiting PBS stations and promoting his new novel, “Super.”

You can read his blog about the trip here.

I got a chance to spend a little time with him Friday, and I asked him about the news business, about what it’s like to moderate a presidential debate and about one of his passions — buses.

In today’s first of two video reports, Lehrer gives his take on the state of the news media and where it’s headed.
