Some of these businesses make or distribute brand-name products; others supply parts and services to companies that do own major brands.
These little-known companies — including Yum! Brands, Inc., Johnson Controls and Ingram Micromany — have revenue in the tens of billions of dollars but are almost completely unknown to the public or to investors.
