Using Facebook is the online equivalent of staring at yourself in the mirror, according to one researcher’s findings.
The UK’s Daily Mail reports that the study — published in the journal Cyberpsychology, Behaviour and Social Networking — found people who spent more time updating their profiles on the social networking site were more likely to be narcissists.
Facebook provides an ideal setting for narcissists to monitor their appearance and their number of “friends.”
People also tend to use the site for promoting themselves to friends or to people they would like to meet, the study concluded.
