From online to offline to online again, today’s social consumers are “checking-in” and talking up businesses through social media like FourSquare, Twitter, Facebook Places and blogs — in exchange for discounts on merchandise and other deals. 

“Checking-in,” Tweeting, Liking, and sharing have actually become forms of social currency as well as a personal endorsement.
