SMS marketing still an effective mobile strategy for small businesses

In today’s world of smartphones, RSS feeds and innumerable flashy mobile apps, text messaging may seem like an archaic — if not obsolete — method of marketing directly to consumers. 

Zachary Sniderman at Mashable argues that — far from a dying breed of marketing — SMS is still hugely important for small businesses, allowing marketers to reach the broadest consumer base.

Mobile apps may look nice, but marketing with apps can sometimes be a case of prioritizing new technology over a real strategy.
