Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Lunch 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17

The Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Network Lunch series — co-sponsored by the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) – Twin Cities and the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) — is for anyone interested in strengthening their leadership skills.

The topic of November’s Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Network Lunch is “Leading from the Middle.”

Nonprofit staff working in project- and program- management positions need to make decisions to move ideas and activities forward. Decision-making from the middle often necessitates getting buy-in from supervisors and other co-workers.

Learn how to make effective decisions that fit within your organization’s mission and culture, that are supported by your co-workers and supervisors, and that keep your project or program moving in the right direction.

This event is free, and no RSVP is necessary. Please bring your lunch, business cards, questions and ideas.

Contact Shannon McCarville with inquiries: 651-757-3079 or shannon [at] mncn [dot] org.

Time: 12-1 p.m.
Date: Friday, Dec. 17, 2010
Place: Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, 2314 University Ave. W., Ste. 20, St. Paul, MN 55114

The Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Network Lunch seminars are ideal for those with fewer than 10 years experience in nonprofits, those new to the sector, students and those seeking to expand their leadership skills. Each month we explore a topic with our peers, share information, swap resources and build skills you can use in your nonprofit organization.

Meetings aim to create strong professional networks for emerging leaders in nonprofits of all sizes, types, and focus areas. Sessions begin with a few rounds of “speed networking” — where participants have the opportunity to meet others in a facilitated way — and group discussion on that month’s topic, followed by presentations.
