Seventeen inches of snow couldn’t stymie Children’s Holiday Celebration

Last Saturday, the Saint Paul Jaycees volunteered with Merrick Community Services for the Les Farrington Children’s Holiday Celebration — an annual Christmas party for economically-challenged families from St. Paul’s East Side.

The weekend snow storm kept many at home, but a handful of hearty, determined St. Paulites braved nature to spread holiday cheer, making the celebration an event to remember.

Children enjoyed crafts and games and shared their holiday wishes with Santa; parents were able to pick out gifts for their kids and received gift certificates for groceries.
