Last Friday, Fuel Rochester celebrated Earth Day by hosting a professional development lunch on green business practices at the Cascade Meadlow Wetlands and Environmental Science Center.

Nearly 50 Fuel, Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and community members gathered to learn how area businesses are going green.

Local business leaders — including Chad Attlesey, co-founder and president of Hardcore Computers; Paul Jewison, general manager of Textile Care Services; Bob Maroo, site operations manager at IBM Rochester; and Geno Wente, district operations manager at Veolia Environmental Services — spoke about utilizing energy-efficient technologies and employing environmentally-conscious business strategies.

Attendees also exchanged opinions on what it really means for businesses to be “green”  and had the chance to tour the new Cascade Meadow site.
