Spring has come to Minnesota. The sun is out and the snow has melted, revealing an entire season’s buried litter. Gum wrappers, plastic straws and pop cans line the streets, sidewalks and boulevards so recently piled with pristine white snow.

One week every April, thousands of volunteers work together across Rochester to scour ditches, parks, waterways and boulevards to pick up tons of trash. Service groups, businesses, scout troops, schools, faith groups and neighborhoods pitch in to Help Make Rochester a Litter Bit Better, an annual event in the city of Rochester.

Fuel Rochester, in partnership with United Way’s Emerging Leaders in Giving (ELIG), will be organizing a group on Tuesday, Apr. 19, to pick up litter in our community. The exact location is yet to be determined. If you enjoy the outdoors and want to give back to your community by keeping it clean, sign up now.

After cleaning up, we’ll head over to Whistle Binkie’s South to enjoy some networking and socializing. We hope you will join us!

Time: 5-7 p.m.
