Started in 1950 by the Minnesota Jaycees, the Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans (TOYM) program is Minnesota’s only statewide recognition program for outstanding young leaders. The program acknowledges the efforts of young leaders that have contributed to our state through their service, thought and influence, community involvement, or entrepreneurship.
Honorees reflect the vast diversity of young people that are making a difference in their community — whether they get involved through business, nonprofit and community organizations or government service.
TOYM is a program that recognizes and brings together a broad cross-section of young people that have devoted themselves to improving their community.
Since 1954, the Minnesota Jaycees has been recognizing the importance of strong young leaders of the agricultural industry of our state through the Outstanding Young Farmer program.
Nominees submit information about their farm, background, and knowledge of the industry and are judged on their progress in their agricultural career, extent of soil and water conservation practices, and contributions to the well-being of their community.
MinnPost is partnering with the Minnesota Jaycees to help spread the word about the accomplishments of these amazing young professionals from all over the state.
Watch the #TOYMOYF hashtag as the honorees are announced this fall. The awards event takes place in the beginning of December.

About the Minnesota Jaycees
The Outstanding Young Minnesotans and Outstanding Young Farmers program is an important way that the Minnesota Jaycees carries out its mission in the community.
The Mission of the Minnesota Jaycees is to provide the opportunity for young individuals to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change. They engage young people through project management and community involvement that will make an impact in their communities and build leadership skills. The Minnesota Jaycees is a statewide organization consisting of 80 local chapters and 2,200 members. Chapters are in rural, mid-sized, and urban communities with membership comprised of young people between the ages of 18-40.
