Looking for a fun night out and a chance to support the Minnesota Fringe Festival?
Join Tempo — Minnesota Opera’s young professionals group — next Thursday for a performance of “Super Spectacular!: To Opera with Love,” an hilarious hour of absurdly re-imagined seven-minute grand operas.
The two-person cast — former Minneapolitans Joe Kolbow (as has-been/never-was actor Merril Garrick) and Jonathan Niel (as Garrick’s sidekick Emmet) — reinvent classic operas such as “La Boheme,” “Madama Butterfly” and “Carmen” by injecting Puccini, Guns N’ Roses, Taylor Swift and more.

Check out this funny, charming mélange of seven classic operas with Tempo as we warm up for Minnesota Opera’s 2011-2012 season!
After the performance, Tempo members will gather for discussion and drinks at Moto-i with members of the Crescendo Project.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from Minnesota Fringe Festival. Single adult tickets are $12. The required festival admission button is an additional $4.
