YWCA Minneapolis is a nonprofit organization founded in 1891 as a member of YWCA USA, the oldest and largest multicultural organization in the world. Our mission is to eliminate racism, empower women and girls and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

We are a trusted social justice organization. For over 125 years, YWCA Minneapolis has changed lives through innovative programs and passionate advocacy in education, racial justice, and wellness. Our work serving girls and youth, women and their families inclusive of all cultural backgrounds is viewed through the lens of racial justice and gender equity. More than 30,000 people are served every year by YWCA Minneapolis, through award-winning programs, classes and workshops; equipping them to create brighter futures for themselves, their families and our community.
