If you wind up following this blog, you’ll know one of my hobbies is tracking the intersection of sports and politics. According to the endlessly entertaining site Deadspin, yet another NHL club — the swing-state St. Louis Blues — has asked Sarah Palin to ceremonially drop the puck before Friday’s game.

Because that worked out so well in Philadelphia. (Palin was roundly booed.)

But that’s not the best part: Since Palin dropped the puck in Philly Oct. 11, the Flyers have not won a game.

And here’s the second-best part: “Democrats say they plan to be outside the hockey arena handing out shopping guides for Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, in a jab at the national GOP’s $150,000 tab to clothe Palin and her family,” notes the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
