The Wall Street Journal writes on what could be the beginning of a big transition at Best Buy. The retailer is rolling out electric motorcycles soon on the West Coast, and, if successful, they could pave the road for more green and high-tech vehicles in the future.

The $12,000 Brammo Enertia isn’t expected to be a fast seller, for now anyway. But as the economy recovers and American’s interest in greener transportation grows, the bikes could find more takers. The article notes the success of another recent experiement: adding musical instrument sales, which have been rolled out nationwide.

One analyst tells the newspaper: “When you look in your crystal ball and envision the world in five years, it’s not hard to see a garage with an electric car or motorcycle that’s networked into the home grid. So this may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.”
