The Schwan Food Co., based in Marshall, has launched a line of sushi for school lunches, aimed at kids in grades 6 to12.
Rising Sun Sushi is available through the company’s Schwan’s Food Service, Inc., said the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The school sushi has vegetables or fully cooked seafood. It is frozen, then thawed at the schools.
Previously, the company has delivered frozen sushi to individual customers, and it also plans to market the Rising Sun brand to colleges and health care facilities, the Journal said.
