WASHINGTON — Michele Bachmann will cast her first House vote in more than one month this week when she comes to Washington to support a balanced budget amendment.
The 6th District Congresswoman’s presidential campaign said Wednesday it would reschedule its Friday events so she could vote for the balanced budget amendment, a measure that has her “unwavering support.”
“Bachmann will be delivering on her promise to stand for fiscal responsibility, cutting spending and reducing the national debt,” her campaign said in a statement.
Bachmann last cast a vote on October 12, when she supported three free trade agreements and the Veteran’s Opportunity to Work Act.
Two-thirds of each chamber of Congress must support an amendment to the Constitution in order to send it to the states for ratification. The balanced budget amendment’s sponsor, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, said Wednesday that there are nearly enough lawmakers committed to supporting the legislation to approve it.
All four Minnesota Republicans and Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson have co-sponsored the legislation. The bill is unlikely to pass the Senate, where Democrats are in the majority. The Obama administration said Tuesday that the president opposes the legislation.

Ah, another “can’t miss” vote.
Thank God we have someone like her in Congress! She has the courage to do the right thing… had they listened to her before it wouldn’t be so bad now. Her leadership and example fueled the voters to expect more and at least it influences the Congress… SHE lead these charges toward budget cuts and repealing Obamacare which may happen soon! 🙂 They need to realize they had better get with the program or a lot of the RINOs will be gone soon also. Man what she could do as President! Awesome person!
I also wanted to address, not voting on certain votes. I looked at what she didn’t vote on and it didn’t matter a hill of beans. The reality is very often, usually even, it is known how a vote is going to go and that it is in no danger of passing/not passing depending on which you want and never hurt a bill’s passage over one vote. I’d be very proud to have her running for President and encourage her all the way!
What Devin Henry conveniently left out of her anti-Bachmann blog was that there have been no substantive votes in the House in the last month, only procedural votes, from which the Speaker routinely excuses Republican members, since he has a large majority. Typical MinnPost anti-Bachmann “news coverage” and such transparent Team Obama propaganda.

To bad her own campaign can’t stick to fiscal responsibility….I only hope she sticks around long enought to take her self out of the re-election vote for her house seat.
