From the Rochester Post Bulletin: Rep. Brad Finstad just got his first serious challenger in the race for the 1st Congressional District. “Rachel Bohman, a Democratic candidate, said she will focus on rising consumer prices, health care access and local business investment. She served on the Rochester Township Board from 2018 to 2022.”

Quinn Gorham at KEYC reports: “Minnesota Senate Republicans introduced a new agenda Tuesday called ‘Repair Minnesota.’ According to caucus leaders, the push is an effort to ‘fix’ several DFL-backed bills and laws from the last two years. Repair Minnesota is a legislative agenda, split into a few separate bills. Primarily, the party appears to be focused on issues that have an impact on taxes.”

From Nick Ferraro at the Pioneer Press: “Thomas Dunne, who fought two tours in Vietnam as a Marine and went on to serve in the Minnesota National Guard and the Wisconsin Army Reserves, died Friday at Regions Hospital, nearly a month after St. Paul police say a 17-year-old severely injured him with a punch to the face at Harriet Island Regional Park.”

Shelby Lindrud at the West Central Tribune reports: “A Native American burial ground was found under Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East near Lake Lillian. The county is working with the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council on a maintenance agreement.”

Jennifer Hoff at KARE11 reports: A bar dedicated to women’s sports is opening soon in the metro. “A Bar of Their Own opens two days after basketball phenom Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes take on the Gophers in front of a sold out crowd at Williams Arena.”

MPR’s Sam Stroozas has the harrowing tale of: Tom the tucker cat, lost for 40 days, found nine miles from his home. “On his journey it is likely he ran into wildlife, including predators, and the Mississippi River. While we may never know what Tom did for all those days, it is clear he was determined to survive.”
