Sahan Journal’s Alfonzo Galvan reports the Minneapolis City Council voted 9-4 Thursday to increase the wages for ride share drivers in the city to “$1.40 per mile and $0.51 per minute for the time transporting a rider, or $5, whichever is greater.” Uber and Lyft have threatened to pull services from Minneapolis if the ordinance passed and Mayor Jacob Frey has vowed to veto. Nine votes would be needed to override that veto.
