We’re just two days away from MinnPost’s 11th Anniversary Celebration, which will feature a conversation with activist, podcast host and author DeRay Mckesson. In a discussion moderated by MinnPost Editor Andrew Putz, Mckesson will talk about his new book, The Other Side of Freedom: The Case for Hope, which is part-memoir, part-manifesto on activism and community organizing.

It’s sure to be a compelling evening, full of insights and questions that go beyond what is typically seen in the headlines or on cable news. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate this milestone for MinnPost and the thoughtful journalism our nonprofit newsroom produces.

The event is this Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cowles Center in downtown Minneapolis. Tickets are on sale now and include a post-program dessert reception and book signing.
