The Dean Barkley for Senate television commercial — and we do mean “the” because it’s the one and only for this campaign so far — is ready to run this week on Channels 4, 5, 9 and 11.
It’s a homey message: He’s a regular guy who pays his mortgage and watches his retirement savings, and doesn’t know why politicians have become larger than life.
It doesn’t have the humor of the Jesse for Governor ads that helped turn the state on its political ear in 1998, but will it attract enough voters from either Sen. Norm Coleman and Al Franken to influence the Tuesday election?
