A kickoff of Hennepin County’s U.S. Census efforts will be held Wednesday in Brooklyn Park.

County officials want to be sure everyone gets counted in the once-every-10-years event, so it’s working with a Hennepin Complete Count Alliance to get out the count, so to speak.

They want people to know that the allocation of much federal and state funding is determined by census numbers, making it important for everyone to fill out the forms.

The kickoff event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center, 5600 85th Ave. N. Attending will be representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau, including Regional Director Dennis Johnson, and community Complete Count Committees.
