Four hundred people can participate in tonight’s health care forum with U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum: that’s all the fire marshal will allow into the Weyerhaeuser Chapel at Macalester College in St. Paul. It starts at 7 p.m.

McCollum, a Democrat who represents the Ramsey County area, also is scheduled to attend a Tuesday night health insurance forum with other lawmakers. That session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mount Zion Temple, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul.

It’s hosted by DFL state Rep. Erin Murphy. DFL state Rep. Tom Huntley, chair of the House Health Care and Human Services Finance Division, will also attend.

  1. Well, it appears that MinnPost has decided against a follow up on last night’s festivities….the savvy reader will hear volumes in that silence.

    Short story for anyone interested:

    Maybe 700 in attendance.

    400 permitted inside.

    Inside speakers drawn by lot.

    3 to 1 against ObamaCare.

Outside, 150 cheering and clapping friends of freedom caused a busy night for cleanup crew left to sweep up all that smug 150 very subdued leftists left lying on the sidewalk.

My favorite Betty! moment? When she assured a self identified Democrat naysayer that “no one had tried to ram-rod any bills through the Congress”, a woman standing in front of me holding an ObamaCare sign sighs..”Oh, Betty!”

  2. When comparing the prominent post of Rep. Bachmann’s recent town hall forum to the *crickets chirping* treatment Rep. McCollum has received, it occurs to me that maybe MinnPost just doesn’t consider what Rep. McCollum has to say as important as what Rep. Bachmann says.

    I heartily agree!
