Mia Birk, a bicycle transportation planner from Portland, speaks tonight in Minneapolis about bike boulevards and cycle tracks.

Birk is credited with the development of more than 100 bicycle, pedestrian, trail and corridor plans and has managed the design and implementation of more than 500 miles of new bikeways and walkways. She’s also worked on programs such as Safe Routes to School, bicycle and pedestrian-friendly development codes and bikeway/walkway maintenance.

She’ll speak tonight from 7 to 9 at The Hotel Minneapolis, 215 Fourth St. S., Minneapolis.
