We haven’t seen in online or on the newsstands yet, but several media outlets say GQ is out with an end of the year list naming the Top 25 “Least Influential People Alive,” and they’ve got Tim Pawlenty as their No. 1 pick.

I guess it’s always good to be mentioned in the national media, but this can’t be good for the VP sweepstakes. And it isn’t going to help book sales.

MediaBistro says MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is #3 on the list, and:

Also on the list: Tia and Tamera Mowry (#4). (Tamera married Fox News correspondent Adam Housley over the summer); also Tina Brown (#17), John Boehner (#24) and Pres. Obama (#25). Topping the list former GOP candidate Tim Pawlenty.

According to Forbes, GQ says this about Newsweek Editor Tina Brown:

Brown spent 2011 transforming Newsweek from a magazine no one reads into a magazine no one reads but everyone despises. That’s what happens when you star-f**k the corpse of Princess Diana by Photoshopping her at age 50 for your cover, then do a separate Photoshop of her holding an iPhone, and then create a fake Facebook page for her that includes wall posts from Deepak Chopra. Did you know Tina and Di were friends? They were! This Photoshopped image of them having lunch with Stevie Nicks is proof!

  1. I don’t think much of lists like this but he ranks low in my estimation in terms of his contributions to Minnesota and society in general. If pressed I’m sure I could come up with others who rank lower. These lists are worthless space-filling exercises.

  2. And didn’t Tim just call President Obama “Barney Fife” He probably has it coming. But there is the old adage, “There is no such thing as bad press.” Just look at Newt.
