Former President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at what from now on will be called the Humphrey-Mondale Dinner Aug. 4 in Minneapolis.

This will be the first year that Walter Mondale will be sharing the program billing with the late Hubert Humphrey for the dinner, which is a major fundraising event for the state DFL.

Both former Minnesota senators went on to become vice presidents who failed in their own presidential bids.

“Not enough has been done to honor his career,’’ said DFL Party chairman Ken Martin of  adding Mondale’s name to the program.

Tickets for the event range from $125 to $5,000.
