Minnesota State Auditor Rebecca Otto announced via an online video on her website today that she’ll seek re-election in 2014.
“I’d be honored to be your state auditor again,” Otto said in the video, which features her dog, Lucy.
Otto, a former state legislator, was first elected auditor in 2006, beating the incumbent, Republican Patricia Anderson, by a 10-point margin.
Otto then won a rematch in 2010, beating Anderson by just over 1 percentage point.
This summer, Otto was named president of the National State Auditors Association, and she’s on the executive committee of the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers.
