WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Michele Bachmann deflected rumors today that she might make a run for governor in 2010 following Gov. Tim Pawlenty announcement yesterday that he would not seek a third term.

Bachmann spokesman Debbee Keller told Congressional Quarterly via email, “She is very happy representing the people of Minnesota’s Sixth District in the U.S. Congress.”

CQ suggested, however, that the statement did leave some “wiggle room.” But while the conservative firebrand would probably have no problem winning an endorsement from her party, she might have trouble winning over moderates in the Democrat-leaning state, according to CQ.

  1. The only Bachmann headline I’m interested in seeing is this: “Bachmann deflects rumors she’ll be re-elected in 2010”

  2. Micky Bachmann will run for governor if and when her husband tells her that God wants her to.
