  1. Church of Scientology

I have never once seen a single person walk into, or out of, the Church of Scientology. It has a vast, beautiful interior space that is always completely empty when I walk by. It might be the strangest building in the entire city.

  2. Wow, a “treasure”???

Of all the great places to stop, you list the Church of Scientology? Really? I mean, I know everyone gets to believe what they want in America. But this is like telling people to stop and check out the Westboro church. This is the only “religion” that charges it’s members thousands of dollars to be a part of it, and instructs and condones doing harm to non-members. All other modern religions profess peace and loving one another in their mainstream teaching, and welcome newcomers for free with open arms. Not the church of scientology.

Members of the public entering a Scientology center or mission are offered a “free personality test” called the Oxford Capacity Analysis by Scientology literature. The test, despite its name and the claims of Scientology literature, has no connection to Oxford University or any other research body. Scientific research into three test results came to the conclusion that “we are forced to a position of skepticism about the test’s status as a reliable psychometric device” and called its scientific value “negligible”.

Please visit the operation clambake site and educate yourself on the horrors these people have inflicted upon their own membership and members of the public.

  3. in defense of Scientology

Well, there’s no defense of Scientology.

But it IS extremely bizarre that the old Science Museum building houses the Scientologists today. So strange for anyone who went there 20 years ago, as Scientology is almost the exact opposite of science. It’s as if the pacifists moved into the armory, or the vegans took over the old slaughterhouse.

  4. Green line

A young male passenger on the eastbound Green Line got off the train with an elderly gentleman to help him learn how to purchase a ticket, then explained that the ticket is good for 2.5 hours. A number of other passengers and I were impressed with the kind act.

  5. Scientology – stay away

If you are at all contemplating going in to the Church of Scientology, do yourself a big favor and stay as far away from it as you can. This is a dangerous cult that is only interested in one thing: your money. This is fact, not conjecture. Google it and you will see exactly what they are up to. You won’t find a “nicer” group of people anywhere in town, but that is just to lure you in so they can empty your bank account and sucker you in to giving up your whole life. I was involved with this group for decades and when I left, they tried to ruin my life. They succeeded at making my fiance and a lot of friends disconnect from me forever because of their cultish policies. This building is empty for a reason – Scientology is a farce and a scam. It does not work and the people who are in it actually do know that, they just can’t admit it.
