Jeremiah Program — a nonprofit that provides transitional housing and support services to single mothers and their children in Minneapolis and St. Paul — has an opening for a full-time Toddler Teacher

With a broad-based coalition of partners, Jeremiah program helps single mothers and children to break the cycle of poverty by providing a campus community where they can prosper — in all senses of the word. The holistic programming actively supports women in completing post-secondary education by providing safe affordable housing, life-skills education, empowerment training and early childhood education.

Jeremiah Program

The Toddler Teacher is responsible for teaching toddlers within the Child Development Center at Jeremiah’s St. Paul location. The teacher must maintain the overall health, safety and growth in the center while reflecting the Jeremiah mission and encompassing the values, vision and purpose of program.

Primary Duties: Developing the intellectual, emotional and physical growth of children; ensuring the physical and emotional safety of the center; maintaining records as required by DHS and collaborating with parents and cross-team members to ensure growth of children.

Job requirements: The ability to work in a team environment, interact with management, provide direct services in a family focused approach to improve service delivery and further the development of participants. The ability to problem solve, multi-task, complete work on time and work independently. Comprehensive knowledge of current child development practices. Evidence of continued professional development.

Additional stipulations: Must meet and maintain the Minnesota DHS requirements for a Rule 3 Teacher. Must have CPR and first aid certification. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
